Ethan's Proposal
On Monday, August 18 Ethan admits to Theresa that the night he was deciding whether to propose to Gwen or Theresa, he had ultimately chosen Theresa as his future wife. If that's the case, then how did it come to pass that Ethan is now married to Gwen? "Remember When?" takes you back in time in "Passions" history to catch up new viewers and refresh the memories of long-time viewers. This installment brings you up to speed on one twisted triangle.
"Full Circle"
After Ethan and Theresa's relationship came to an end, Ethan began spending more time with his first love, Gwen. Ethan and Gwen had once been engaged, but Ethan broke up with Gwen after falling for Ms. Lopez-Fitzgerald. Ethan and Gwen decided to put the past behind them and move on as friends. But soon their friendship blossomed into more and the two once again embarked on a relationship.
"The Ring"
While at a jewelry store, Ethan secretly decided the time was right to once again ask Gwen to be his wife. He bought an engagement ring and planned to ask Gwen to marry him. Thanks to Theresa (who believed the ring was for her), Gwen found out about Ethan's plans to propose. Gwen was thrilled and couldn't wait for Ethan to pop the question. Meanwhile, Ethan received advice from those around him that he should be sure of whom he wanted to spend his life with. These words caused Ethan to question his decision. Ethan was about to say the magic words to Gwen when he was interrupted with the news that Theresa's baby was sick. When the baby pulled through, Gwen waited for Ethan to pop the question but the situation was no longer that simple! During the ordeal with the baby, Ethan had the opportunity to once again see Theresa in a new light-as a selfless, devoted mother. When Theresa realized that Ethan had not yet proposed to Gwen, she was thrilled. Maybe there was a chance for her yet!
"Diamond for your Thoughts?"
Unsure about what to do, Ethan took time by himself to think about his future. Theresa and Gwen both waited and wondered which woman he would choose. When Ethan went to Theresa's door first, Gwen assumed he'd made up his mind and chosen Theresa. Despite her mother's protests, Gwen was no longer willing to fight for Ethan. She decided she would leave Harmony behind and start a new life in New York. Meanwhile, Theresa and Ethan talked about the problems they'd had in the past. Ethan admitted to Theresa that after he talked to Gwen, he would like to talk to Theresa about something very important. Assuming he was going to propose, Theresa couldn't have been more thrilled!
"And Baby Makes Three"
Just as Gwen was about to set off for her new life, she received some startling news. She was pregnant...with Ethan's baby! Ethan was rocked when he learned of Gwen's pregnancy. Gwen insisted this didn't change anything-she still intended to move to New York and would raise the baby on her own. Ethan realized he needed to sort out his thoughts and spoke to his father about the situation. After talking to Sam, Ethan knew what he had to do. He asked Gwen to marry him. After giving it some thought, Gwen accepted his proposal. A devastated Theresa begged Ethan to reconsider, since she believed Ethan had been planning to propose to her! Ethan insisted that he had made his decision.
"Aftermath"
Ethan and Gwen wed, but Theresa always believed deep down that fate would bring Ethan back to her. When Gwen experienced problems during her pregnancy, Theresa flew to Los Angeles to give them some space. Unbeknownst to her, Gwen and Ethan also went to Los Angeles to visit a specialist. While Gwen stayed in the hospital, Ethan unknowingly got into bed with Theresa. As they slept, the two former lovers kissed passionately! Theresa believed fate had finally brought Ethan back to her.
